Fukushima Japan Arcade Tsunami Aftermath
Game Environment Art

On March 11, 2011, a magnitude 9.0 earthquake triggered a tsunami over 10 meters high, devastating Japan’s coast and flooding the Fukushima Daiichi plant, leading to three reactor meltdowns.

This environment is inspired by the impact of natural disasters in Japan. It was created with respect for the people affected, focusing on environmental storytelling rather than depicting real individuals.

Created using Unreal Engine 5 with Lumen.
All 3D models were created and rendered from scratch using a high-to-low poly baking workflow. Unique and tiling materials were made in Substance Painter, and I also created a basic blend material for the floor texture.
All graphic elements were made from scratch in Affinity Photo and Designer using vector shapes.

Throughout the project, my texturing and compositional skills improved, and I learned a lot about using blend materials and trimsheets.

Hope you guys like it!!!
